I have done a milk paint finish on a couple of other items and I really like the finish for certain items. Here’s how I do it. Oh and I use Real Milk paint with their 1/2 and 1/2 tung oil.
Putting down the walnut stain.
Popular with walnut stain.
A light sanding to knock down the raised grain.
Barn red under iron black before tung oil.
Carved lid with barn red under coat with a final coat of iron black milk paint.
First coat of tung oil.
Lid on and oiled barn red under iron black.
