Jewerly Box hinges and internals

I finally got my computer back, but its in the process of being restored, so posts and pictures on alternate computers for a bit longer.

I decided on a sanded in Danish oil finish (thanks for the suggestion Tico).

Jewelry Box Update

Yes, I haven’t been posting much .. cuz my hard drive crashed and my computer is being repaired.  But I snagged a computer and wanted to post an update on the Jewelry Box that I’m making for my niece’s high school graduation welcome to college present.  Next step, saw the top off (probably on the table saw and finished up with a hand saw) and install hinges.  BTW, box is made of quarter sawn walnut with a cherry panel top.

Mitered corners top and bottom. Note, not all miters turned out this well.

I did it!

I’m working on a jewerly box for my niece.  She just graduated from High School and I wanted to make something for her to take to college with her.

I also want to use dovetails with a mitred corners so that the top joinery will look nice.  Here’s my practice piece.

Here’s the video where Chris demonstrates how to do it.
