My first project, the Chest of Drawers, is finished and in use .. finally!
I build this project as my first real woodworking project. Marc Spagnuolo at the Wood Whisperer was building this project as one of his guild projects. I didn’t need a chest of drawers, but I was eager to do this project because I knew it would teach me the woodworking skills I needed.
So what to do with the final piece? I have two friends who were expecting a child and were in need of furnishings for the child’s room. So problem solved. The chest of drawers would go in the soon to arrive child’s room.
So here’s the piece in its final resting place stuffed full of the little one’s clothes.
What a cool experience this has been.

Making a beautiful project is awesome. But seeing it go to a good home is something special! Well done Marilyn!

Awesome! Absolutely love it–the work, and its new home.
Great work. I saw the posting from Marc on his facebook page, looked at the pictures and — small world — one of the recipients is on my facebook friend list 🙂
