Fun with Feet

Got a little bit of time to work on the decorative feet for the front of the chest.  I used my rabbet plane to cut rabbets on the back of the feet so that they’ll attach to the side pieces.  The molding will cover the seams and nails.

The feet really class it up; looks good!

  2. Very smooth transitions in the curves. Looks like you are getting close. Have you chosen a finish yet? Hardware?

Finish will be a marine varnish since the chest will sit on the porch. I’ll be installing some basic hinges that will hopefully slow close the lid so it doesn’t drop on anyone’s fingers. No lock though.
