I put the finishing touches on the box today and started applying pore filler and finish (ProFin – Daly’s).
Appling pore filler with a used up Rockler card.
One coat of finish.

Generally padauk turns a purple-cast brown. Will still give you nice contrast, but more subtle. I don’t believe your finish will prevent that.
