Ha! Now that I’ve figured out some good sharpening techniques and how to set my plow plane up, its a lot of fun to use. Walnut and Maple are much more fun than African Mahogany!
I love my plow plane but was initially frustrated. I tend to overpower things and when you overpower the plow plane, it causes the fence and the stop to slip. Now that I know, I use it gently.
Yea, that was my experience as well. I added a wooden fence, have the blades set for a light cut and adjusted my push stroke and now it works like a charm. I found myself wanting to cut more grooves even though I had finished all the ones I needed. :o)

Neat planes. When I first saw the title of this post I thought you had gotten a bug zapper.
