I finished up all my drawers and fitting them into the cabinet today. I’m going to finish these parts while working on the main desk.
Gratuitous Tool Shot below.
Today I got a chance to final cut the drawer parts and do a glue up. I use the band saw to cut out the drawer front, then cleaned them up with a spoke shave and rasp.
A friend of mine live near a plastics outlet and picked up a nice thick sheet of plastic that keeps the glue off my bench. The hide glue wipes off easily and then I tuck the sheets away. And the sheet is big enough to cover the full width of my bench. Sweet!
We went to a new nieghborhood restaurant tonight and I found myself a new workbench. I asked the proprietor about the table. Its a 23′ x 31″ wide 3″ thick clear piece of vertical grained fir. It was salvaged off the coast of Alaska. It’ the perfect height for me. 😀
Here’s a better shot from the web site.
