So where was I .. oh yeah .. The Bedside table

And now back to the bedside table that I was working on.  After the initial dry fit, it seems like every thing still fits .. whew!  Things have been stickered, but its been since before Thanksgiving that I’ve been able to work on it.

Hinges

Installing hinges still makes me nervous.  These are a bit more trickery than what I’ve done before.  But as usual, Marc at the Wood Whisperer (membership required) has a great step by step process.

I used super glue to attach the hinge temporarily for outlining.
After removing the hinge, I used a router and carving gouge to remove the waste inside the pencil/marking knife lines.

With the hinges in place in the bottom case, I laid out hinge locations in the top.
I used CA glue to attach the hinge while I marked around the hinge.
I also needed to drill out the mortise for hinge arm.
