After putting thing back together, here’s how it turned out. Simple and sturdy.
And the cuts turned out pretty well, too.
More pictures after the fold.

Hi, Marilyn. I bought a Stanley 2246 Mitre Box at a garage sale a few years back. Am just now getting around to degreasing and derusting it. I have mostly disassembled it, but there are a few parts I have been unable to get free, Unfortunately I was in too much of a hurry and didn’t take pictures as I disassembled it, so there is one area I’m not clear about. Do you happen to know of any good resources for Stanley Mitre Box information?
    Thanks, Kathryn (in Wichita, KS)

I found this:file:///C:/Users/Marilyn/Downloads/Mitre%20Box%2019-246.pdf. You could put your model number in ebay and get some photos there as well.
