Today I installed to drawer slides using a plywood spacer.
Then I cut all the parts for the doors and arranged them to make sure grain patterns work. Next I’ll make the mortise, tenons and grooves for the door panels.
My refurbed No. 4 with a Hock blade did a nice job on the 1/4 sawn mahogany. There were only a few place that needed scraping. I’ll be using a pore filler to make sure its nice and smooth.
My friend Steve uses a router, band saw and drill press to do most of his wood working (supplemented with hand planes, etc.) I asked him to help me route the grooves in my desk top pieces. Above are a few shots of his set up, the grooves we cut and finally .. the glued up top.
It’s always a lot of fun when I get a chance to be in someone else’s shop!
