Yippee Skippee! I’m having fun!

Woodworking is a ton of fun for me .. most of the time. ūüėÄ ¬†The introduction of hand tools and the band saw to what I do has made it even more fun. Not sure I can really explain it, but there’s something about using an old tool or old technique that really makes my socks roll up and down. ¬†Perhaps its about being connected with the past and gaining an¬†appreciation¬†for the work that goes into making something. ¬†I don’t know.

Anyway, I’ve been trickin’ out my tool cabinet (finally!) with door tool holding racks. ¬†(No, I’m not procrastinating about the desk, I’m organizing the shop before the next big project .. OK, maybe a little. ūüėČ ¬†)

Here’s some of what I’ve done.

Starting the Desk

I started working on the desk now that the work bench is complete. ¬†We need a desk something awful. ¬†Right now, all the “desk” work is getting done on a worn out¬†scratched¬†up old table. ¬†Here’s a quick pic of what the desk will look like.

I don’t know about you, but at this point of the project I always feel a bit overwhelmed. ¬†I know that I need to break the project down into small steps and work to complete those. ¬†I have to tools, the plans and help if I need it, but never the less I seem to always feel this way at the¬†beginning.

Here’s a quick gallery of what I done so far.
